Guide to staying safe

While we encourage you to try as many new activities as you can, we would like to advise you that many, if not all, of the activities mentioned and advertised on our site pose a risk of injury and/or death. We do not wish to cause any alarm, however we insist that all activities are undertaken having assessed all potential risks and using common sense, ensure that you take every measure to enjoy the activities in a safe and risk free way. Experience Swap is for people over 16 years old because of the type of activities the site allows you to do. We cannot be held liable for any personal loss, damage, injury or death. We would advise you to follow a few simple rules, outlined below, and to take some time to read through our terms and conditions.

• Always tell someone where you are going - Let a friend or family member know where you will be and for how long. Tell them who you are going with.
• Meeting the opposite sex - You never know, it may end up a fairytale ending where you get married in a tandem skydive with the World’s only Adrenaline-Sport Priest, but seriously, if you don’t feel you can trust the other user and have ANY doubts, either go with a mate or don’t go at all and send us an email with your concern.
• Meeting in public places - It’s a good idea. Be wary of someone who asks you to go surfing, but asks you to meet round the back of Jim’s Tavern at midnight. Arrange a first meeting in a comfortable setting during daylight hours.
• Activity guides and videos - Check them out! You’ll see what’s going to be involved, meaning you can judge your suitability to the activity. You might surprise yourself.
• Report unsafe experience - Let us know STRAIGHT AWAY. This helps you guys have the BEST experiences possible and let us boot out any ‘unsavoury-types’! We don’t want the odd one or two spoiling it for everyone else.
• At the end of the day, a bit of common sense goes a long way. We have professional instructors littered throughout the site if you don’t feel another member can offer you the support you need to get started. Once you’re off the mark, meet up with them later.
